EPA Publishes Decision on MSMA Containing Products
October 2009
EPA has published their decision concerning MSMA containing products
in the September 30, 2009 issue of the Federal Register. A summary
of that decision as
it pertains to Gordon’s
Trimec® Plus has been provided for your reference.
PBI/Gordon
will continue to supply Trimec Plus with current labeling for residential
use in both the consumer and professional markets through the end
of this year, December 31, 2009. Product in distribution channels
with residential uses on the label will need to be sold by December
31, 2010. End user customers, including homeowners can continue to
apply Trimec Plus they have purchased until supplies are exhausted.
Gordon’s is also offering a new consumer lawn product for the
2010 season, Gordon’s Trimec® Crabgrass Plus Lawn Weed
Killer, containing the active ingredient quinclorac for crabgrass
and broadleaf weed control.
Q4 Turf Herbicide with quinclorac has
been available to the professional market for over two years.
PBI/Gordon
will continue to supply Trimec Plus labeled for golf course and sod
farm use only through December 31,2012. Distribution channels may
continue to sell this product through June 30, 2013 and end users
may continue to apply Trimec Plus on golf courses and sod farms through
the end of December 31, 2013 in accordance with published EPA application
restrictions.
